Data Engineer - Manchester

My client is a well-established software house in Manchester who are going through a big growth phase and as part of a large recruitment drive are now looking to hire 2 more Data Engineers into the team.
The roles are based near Salford Quays, walking distance from tram stops and offers free onsite parking. The positions offer hybrid working with generally 2 or 3 days in the office.
About the Role
As a key member of the data engineering team you'll focus on driving innovation by developing, scaling, and maintaining their cutting-edge data platform. Your work will span DevOps, backend, and cloud development, tackling challenging data problems in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
Using state-of-the-art Big Data technologies like Apache Spark and AWS tools such as Elastic MapReduce, Athena, and Lambda, you'll create scalable solutions that make a real impact.
What You'll Be Doing
- Innovate & Build: Write high-quality code and tests, develop automated processes, and craft reliable infrastructure for efficient data processing.
- Drive Improvements: Explore and implement the latest tools and technologies to enhance the design, architecture, and performance of the data platform.
- Support & Collaborate: Maintain production systems, troubleshoot issues, and work closely with stakeholders to understand and deliver on their needs.
- Share Expertise: Act as a subject matter expert for the data platform, sharing knowledge through documentation and presentations to upskill your peers.
- Foster Excellence: Provide thoughtful feedback during code reviews to maintain high standards across the team.
We are looking for a Data Engineer with skills in Python, SQL, AWS and Apache Spark.
