Data Engineer - Ecommerce - Manchester
Data Engineer with strong experience in Data engineering with scripting & automation in SQL, Python or similar, Data operations, data warehouse & ETL is required by a Manchester based Ecommerce Company who work globally. This is a unique opportunity to work on a new greenfield project, streamlining complex data operations, developing automation solutions, and ensuring seamless data consistency across multiple platforms, regions, and products.
Experience required:
- Strong technical expertise in:
- Scripting and Automation: Proficiency in Python, SQL, or similar languages.
- Database Management: Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and data warehouse solutions.
- ETL Processes: Hands-on experience in building and optimizing ETL pipelines.
- Solid understanding of data management principles, including data cleaning, transformation, and accessibility.
- Ideally experience working with e-commerce platforms and managing data across global markets and channels is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills to effectively bridge technical solutions with operational requirements.
In this role, you will work with data that is inputted into e-commerce platforms spanning multiple countries and channels. The business operates across a variety of regions, selling products through a range of online channels, and requires an experienced professional to ensure data integrity and accessibility within this dynamic environment. They need to build a data platform, that when they make a change in one area, will then automatically change in other areas.
This is not just a coding role, I am looking for someone who enjoys working directly with data to solve complex challenges while understanding the development potential of systems. You will play a key role in a trading company where collaboration and alignment with operational needs are crucial. Key Responsibilities
- Data Management and Automation:
- Design, build, and maintain centralized data systems to manage large datasets from multiple platforms and regions.
- Automate data workflows to streamline processes, ensuring seamless integration across multiple channels and platforms.
- Technical Development:
- Develop and implement scripts, ETL pipelines, and other tools to manipulate, clean, and consolidate data.
- Ensure data is accessible, accurate, and consistent across all systems.
- Problem Solving:
- Work hands-on with data to address challenges such as managing multi-warehouse systems, price variations across regions, and product information synchronization.
- Support the optimization of pricing, sizing charts, and other critical datasets to reflect real-time updates globally.
- E-commerce Expertise:
- Manage and optimize data for products sold across various online channels and platforms.
- Address challenges unique to e-commerce, such as maintaining consistent pricing and product information across different countries and websites.
